Unplug and Chalk It Up!

Mokena Park District, along with park districts across Illinois, will be celebrating Unplug Illinois Day on Saturday, July 10. Celebrate with us at Unplug and Chalk It Up!, a sidewalk chalk drawing contest from 11am¬1pm at Main Park, 10925 W. La Porte Road, Mokena.
The registration fee of $5, includes a set of sidewalk chalk (10 pieces). Spots are limited so participants must be preregistered. The registration deadline is July 2. All ages are welcome. Groups or families can also enter (maximum of four people per group). Check-in time is 11–11:15am. Drawing begins at 11:30am until 12:30pm. From 12:30–1:00pm judging and prizes will be announced.
Participants can use the chalk provided by the park district or bring your own. Only sidewalk chalk can be used for the drawings. Paints or other materials are not allowed. We also suggest you bring water, sunscreen, a hat, and a towel or kneeler pad to kneel on. General seating is not available. Family members or friends can bring camp chairs to use while they are waiting. Please follow all state covid-19 guidelines and social distancing precautions.
Prizes will be awarded for: Most Creative, Best Unplug Theme, Best Youth (12 and under), and Overall First Place and Second Place. For more information, call 708-390-2401. Register for the Unplug and Chalk It Up contest at www.mokenapark.com.
