Maple Sugaring Days

Don't miss our annual celebration of spring: Maple Sugaring Days, March 11-12, from 1-4 p.m. at LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve in St. Charles. Naturalists from the Forest Preserve District of Kane County will teach you how to tap a maple tree. You can try drilling and setting a tap. Watch sap simmer over an open fire as it thickens to syrup. Join us on a "Sugarin' Time" hike to learn to distinguish maples from other trees. Sample pure, local syrup. And, check-out the interactive exhibits inside Creek Bend Nature Center. Bring the whole family for this fun, free program. Make this your spring tradition!
